Sarah Williams

Sarah was born and raised in metro Detroit. She holds a BA in Journalism and a Creative Writing minor from Wayne State University, and spent memorable years at Henry Ford College along the way. As a freelance journalist, Sarah works to raise the voices and experiences of individuals and grassroots organizations investing in their communities through arts & culture, integrated healthcare, education, neighborhood revitalization, and social advocacy. She writes and edits for solutions and service-oriented publications like Model D Media, Metromode, Planet Detroit, and Outlier Media. She finds relaxation and creativity walking in nature and playing in the kitchen, offering a loaf of homemade bread or a cozy soup concoction as her love language to others. Her favorite books are memoirs, which she regularly reads, believing every person has an interesting story.

Jay Williams

Jay was born and raised in Detroit. A Warrior through and through, he earned a BA in History at Wayne State University and is completing his Master's in Public History.      Jay spent over 20 years in the automotive manufacturing industry, rising from an inside sales position to a company general manager. In the fall of 2021, he left the field to pursue his love of history. He's currently working on a podcast series that brings to life the story of Detroit's Black Bottom and Paradise Valley and housing segregation in Detroit. Jay enjoys all things Star Wars and Marvel and spending time with his family.  He loves reading and discussing social and cultural history, biographies, and legal thrillers.
